Nature is a language can't you read?!

If The Smiths deliver a 4/4 whining that still has a good underlying beat, then so be it. If their lyrics resonate with those of us who have felt either lonely or abandoned or both...and both feelings are often self-induced, then so be it. "Why IS the last mile the hardest mile?" they ask half in jest and half in earnest-- and the question still remains true. Why is it so? Why do we keep on going when we aren't sure there is an actual ending that allows for some gratification on any simple level? "How can someone so young sing words so sad??"

On a not-so-rare 76 degree afternoon in the Central Coast, my friend and I split a bottle of sparkling Rose from Flying Goat Cellars. This sparkling rose (and all of their sparkling wines) is well worth its weight in liquid gold. I would highly recommend Flying Goat sparkling wines and pinot noirs-- the bubbles go down easy and the pinot flavors are other-worldly.

In addition, we had some fig spread atop crackers with arugula and Cowgirl Creamery Mt. Tam cheese...oh the joy in finding Cowgirl Creamery sold SOMEWHERE in the Central Coast!!! Happiness exists...at some moments of the day...I promise.

So many ellipses, I apologize.

Finally, we began drinking the Vita Nova 2001 Reservatum-- don't shake your head. I know it's a blend and hey, I'm a beer kind of person anyhow. Take a deep breath, take it down a notch, and enjoy. It's worth it. "Learn to love me, and assemble the ways" and all that.

And here, this is for all of you:
